We are very excited to reveal the Shine team & models who are working on our next period shoot, celebrating the glamorous 1950’s. We absolutely love this era; not only did it have incredibly distinctive styles, but they’re also somehow timeless, as they keep reoccurring within our modern trends. We want to show you 4 models, 2 female and 2 male, with four completely different, but classic 1950s styles.
Meet our Models & their Makers 
Emily Kavanagh

Emily dyes her hair a light but striking ginger, so Stylist Jessica Elvin (of Shine on the Green) matched her lovely colour with one of our organic colours. She then gave her a trim so her hair was healthy and ready for it’s up style. Jessica incorporated 1950’s style pin rolls falling down to soft curls. The look works beautifully with Emily’s hair colour and high cheek bones. Desi Petkova (mostly based at Shine Holistic) then applied a thick and beautifully curved eyeliner, perfectly matched with a bold red lipstick.
Frank Higson

Senior Stylist Isabel Oliva (of Shine Holistic) cut and styled Frank’s hair, into one of the 1950’s male fashions of a clean cut look, side-parted with tapered back and sides. The style really complements Frank’s cheek bones and striking blue eyes. Desi Petkova then added simple face makeup to create an overall even tone to his skin.
Lucy Marland

As we wanted all of our team to offer something a bit different, Johiem Ismail (of Shine Holistic) took inspiration from Elizabeth Taylor to create this soft yet, striking hair do. Using a wonderful technique of disguising the model’s actual hair length, he created a truly authentic 1950’s look. Dana Vronksa (of Shine on the Green) coupled this with a soft smokey eye framed with eyeliner, fake eyelashes and a deep red lipstick.
Kevin Nally

Jennifer Kovacs (of Shine Holistic) was influenced by the Rockabilly trend of the 1950’s. She used Kevin’s length on the top to create a high quiff/pompadour effect, with a gorgeous asymmetrical curl at the front. Desi Petkova then gave Kevin a subtle face makeup with pencil eyeliner to accentuate his striking eyes.
