Cathy Kwan

With a degree in physiotherapy from Sydney, Australia, Cathy has 14 years’ experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. During this time she has completed a Masters Degree in manipulative physiotherapy, and for the past seven years has lived in the UK.  She has worked both in the private sector and the NHS, specialising in the management of spinal, occupational and general musculoskeletal injuries.

Cathy also has experience in sports related injuries, having previously worked with sports associations in Australia.  She is also qualified in acupuncture and finds it a useful addition to her physiotherapy toolbox as it can complement and enhance results.  Cathy is currently undertaking her Pilates certification, and is keen to add this into rehabilitation programmes, having experienced first hand the effectiveness of adding this into her own specialist sport fitness programme.

As a visiting lecturer at London South Bank University, Cathy teaches a Masters level course in musculoskeletal assessment for physiotherapists.

During Cathy’s spare time she enjoys training for (and competing in) triathlons and half marathons. She finds these provide excellent motivation for keeping fit, as well as a great way to explore the UK. Having grown up mainly in Australia, Cathy enjoys outdoor activities, especially cycling. She also enjoys playing the piano and cooking.
