Ana began her massage training in 2003, initially concentrating on eastern techniques and working in a number of spa's and clinics around London. During this time she also started her own practice in a community centre in Hackney where she was sponsored by Shoreditch trust to provide affordable treatments to the community. Andrew has worked in the NHS and private practice for 10 years, where he has treated a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. To make his treatments even more effective he trained in acupuncture and traditional Chinese massage which he now incorporates into his physiotherapy.
Andrew works closely with pain consultants, treating clients who have failed to be helped by conventional methods. He believes that the best treatment combines hands on therapy with exercise and acupuncture in order to optimise the body’s own healing mechanisms. Although Andrew uses a variety of treatment techniques, his diagnosis is still based on his training and experience in musculoskeletal medicine.
Prevention is always better than cure and therefore Andrew teaches Wudang Tai Chi Chuan and medical Chi Kung to enable clients to strengthen their core stability, improve posture, increase body awareness and develop mindfulness. Andrew teaches these ancient practices both as remedial and recreational exercise.

CHRIS HARRIS, BA hons DO, graduated as an Osteopath from the European School of Osteopathy in 1994 having found his vocation.
As an undergraduate he particularly enjoyed the field of Cranial Osteopathy. This is a refined and subtle form of the work which hugely broadens the range of conditions that can be safely and effectively treated. Chris quickly realised that this was an area in which to specialise.
This he has done by substantial postgraduate study with the Sutherland Cranial College [the foremost training institute in this field] having completed all their specialist courses, and by apprenticeship. He has worked closely with and learned from several senior figures in the profession of world renown. This has helped him in the synthesis of his own unique approach.
He treats a large number of infants and children where early intervention to release stresses and strains from the birthing process in particular can avoid a lifetime of problems. He describes constantly attempting to extend the depth and reach of Osteopathic treatment. Cranial Osteopathy is well known for being able to initiate healthy changes even when there have been decades of suboptimal functioning as a consequence of a birth strain or other physical or emotional trauma. Much of his personal satisfaction comes from facilitating patients as they release these patterns and thus enable themselves to initiate profoundly positive life changes.
He also specialises in the new field of Osteodontics. This is the interface between dental/orthodontic intervention and Cranial Osteopathy. Alongside work with infants treatment here is at its most powerful in terms of long term benefits accrued from the minimum of intervention, which concurs with the philosophy of work that Chris espouses.
Patients have often described Chris as having an infectious enthusiasm for his work which they find reassuring and encouraging. Chris is always happy to answer questions about any aspect of treatment. Further information is available on his website.

Cinnamen Johnson qualified at the London School of Reflexology in the beginning of 2011 and is a registered member of the Association of Reflexologists.
Her inspiration to study Reflexology came after a horse riding accident as a teenager which resulted in on-going spinal and back pain. Reflexology brought her much relief and she went on to study the Keet method followed by spinal, hand and pregnancy techniques all of which may help to correct imbalances in parts, organs and systems of the body.
Cinnamen’s approach is sensitive and intuitive, tailoring every treatment to suit the client’s needs - whether to relax or to invigorate.
Cinnamen also has a diploma in Spinal Reflexology. This is a powerful technique that stimulates the spinal reflexes on the feet to effectively energise each individual vertebra. This technique may also help to identify nerve roots out of balance and can assist with back pain, muscle discomfort, adrenal overload, emotional traumas, chakra balance and many other common conditions.
Cinnamen offers treatments at Shine, Church Street

While working as a technical trainer with the BBC, Peter went on an Neuro-Lingustic Programming (NLP) course run by Tom Mackay, an inspirational therapist and practitioner who trained with the likes of Ernest Rossi and Sidney Rosen, who studied with Milton Erickson. He found the experience quite literally “life changing” being deeply inspired by the therapeutic power of language and decided to pursue a new career in the world of therapy. Peter then completed specialist hypnotherapy training with Tom Mackay before going on to further study at the renowned Institute of Clinical Hypnosis at Kings College in London.
Over several years, Peter suffered extreme backpain and while on a pain management workshop, encountered Emotional Freedom Techniques. Through EFT he was able to discover the core emotional issues responsible for much of the pain and significantly reduce the severity of his condition. Based on his experience he studied EFT with Judy Byrne, EFT Master and one of the original therapists who trained with the Gary Craig, the developer of EFT, and with Alison Munro an EFT trainer and tutor at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis.

Rana’s way into craniosacral therapy is through stories.
The stories we tell ourselves. The stories we receive. The stories we hold in our bodies.
Each story has a physiological and psychological impact. By learning to listen to the body we can begin to unpack these stories, unfold them a little; enough to allow for something different to emerge, enough to allow ourselves back into healthy relationship.
Her craniosacral work is informed by her training in psychotherapy, her academic background in literature and creative writing. To keep her own energy flowing she regularly practices yoga, chi kung and dance.
Rana graduated in 2011 from Michael Kern’s highly respected training at CTET and is very pleased to be part of Shine’s new Graduate Clinic team. She warmly welcomes clients to experience the power of this light touch, sensitive therapy.
Rana offers appointments at Shine Newington Green

Rehana is an Osteopath working primarily in the Cranial Field.
Osteopathy works on the basis that the body is intelligent and self regulating. However, at times of stress, injury and challenging life events, the body can struggle to re-balance itself and this can lead to discomfort, pain and general dysfunction. The body can be seen as 'carrying' layers of history in a person's life.
For example: a difficult birth which required forceps, an old rib injury which still bears scar tissue, childhood asthma with recurrent wheezing during colds, wisdom teeth extractions or a brace fitting, migraines in the teenage years or a fall many years ago. All of these remain, to some extent, manifest in the body and may be the cause of recurrent ill health. Sometimes they will not become relevant again until many years later, when the individual finds it more difficult to recover from a new injury.
Osteopaths use their hands to 'listen' to the body, to assess and treat underlying stresses and strains, to encourage optimal structural balance, movement, drainage and fluid flow and so allow good function and expression of health to return.
Rehana trained at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London and continued with postgraduate training in Paediatric Osteopathy at the Osteopathic Centre for Children.
The ‘cranial’ approach is renowned for its gentle, yet highly effective and profound, treatment for babies and children, but it is also very relevant for work with adults and teenagers in any range of health issues.
Rehana specialises in working with postural strains, incorporating the balance of the face, sinuses and jaw, pregnancy related issues and seeing babies and children through their development. She has worked within the NHS and in private practice and is now based at Shine Holistic in North London
