The BioSurface Peel by Dermalogica is here

Shine Beauty is launching a new advanced face treatment within our Intelligent Skincare ethos.

After years of research and development, the skin health experts at the Dermalogica Institute are proud to introduce the new BioSurface ™ Peel and so are we!

What is a BioSurface Peel?

BioSurface Peel is a powerful resurfacing system that delivers what many skin care professionals and their customers have sought for – visible, instant results without triggering the adverse side effects of aggressive chemical peels.

Clients can finally benefit from a peel that is less toxic, less costly and more focused on working with the skin and not against it.

Delivered by one of our certified Skin Experts, it helps to combat breakouts, reduces fine lines, stimulate cell turnover and collagen production. Also, it brightens the skin tone, treats pigmentation and decreases surface roughness.

BioSurface Peel is a great all rounder and due to a high amount of soothing properties it is suitable for almost all skin types, including even sensitive skin and mild rosacea.

How does BioSurface Peel work and what can you expect from the treatment?

BioSurface Peel works via a layering technique. The strength and depth of the peel are observed and controlled by your Skin Expert throughout the whole treatment.
The highly- active ingredients of this Dermalogica Peel are Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Plant Enzymes and soothing Botanicals.

Salicylic Acid (BHA) is a Beta Hydroxy Acid derived from the bark of the tree. It’s an oil-soluble substance, therefore it can penetrate the skin through the oil-laden sebaceous gland. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and is suitable for mild rosacea. It actively resurfaces the skin, improves the signs of sun-damage and brightens skin tone by stimulating skin cell renewal. The Peel can aid preventing the formation, or reduce the outbreak, of acne and comedones.

Lactic Acid (AHA) is one of the Alpha Hydroxy Acid constituents and the least aggressive of all acids. However its function goes beyond exfoliation, by promoting collagen and elastin production in the deeper layer of the epidermis.
It is water-soluble and derived from milk sugar compound. It is a natural humectant, which means it binds water to the skin cells and therefore increases hydration.

Fruit Enzymes– Papaya (Papain), Pineapple (Bromelain) and Pumpkin are enzymes that work by breaking down the keratin protein, resulting in a smoother complexion.

Post- Treatment Care

Unlike other peels, the BioSurface Peel has no downtime. After the treatment, mild skin peeling, tightness, slight redness and flakiness may occur. This is due to the skin’s processes of cell renewal. But these side affects will be eliminated quickly.

Your Skin Therapist will give you clear guidance of how to look after your skin at home post treatment. One of the most important things is to wear SPF to avoid photo-sensitization.

We highly recommend a course of 3-6 treatments for the best results.
