WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Micro-pigmentation is a safe, non-invasive procedure that produces semi-permanent results. It gives the effect of ultra-fine, delicate hair strokes that blend seamlessly and mimic your natural brow hair along the brow bone.
There are many reasons to choose microblading, for some it is simply working with the existing landscape of the brow, filling in where maybe the hair is too short, pale, thin or sparse, helping to strengthen the desired shape. For others who have no existing brows, you are able to completely recreate an entire new brow. You are also able to create a custom shade that matches your natural brow colour so that you have multidimensional and natural brows.
Unlike a traditional tattoo, the effects can last up to 12-36 months, depending on skin types, after which the pigment fades leaving the skin and your natural brows exactly as they were. The results are very natural and lifelike, giving the brows a natural, fuller look.
Microblading is now available at our Shine Hair and Beauty Salon, Stoke Newington Branch.

Your first appointment
During the consultation we will cover, an explanation of all there is to know about Microblading, risk, result and cost. While we are waiting for the numbing cream to work it’s magic, we will discuss your eyebrow concerns and desires. It is normal to be nervous at this stage, Francesca will determine the most flattering brow shape for your face and eye shape. This is pencilled in place and all agreed with you before the actual Microblading begins. This process will take up to 45mins, there is no rushing at any point during your Microblading appointment.
Once all agreed and numb, the Microblading will begin, once again, there will be no rushing as Francesca meticulously chooses the exact position of each stroke. You may feel a scraping sensation, similar to threading though few describe this as painful. If pain occurs be sure to mention as further numbing cream can and will be reapplied during the treatment.
The eyebrows may appear darker immediately after the initial treatment. Do not panic they will fade over the next 3 to 10 days. It is important at this stage to follow the after care instructions carefully so that your new brows last as long as we want them to.
Your follow up appointment
It is standard that the colour will fade after a few weeks and a touch-up will usually need to be done in 4 to 6 weeks. At this appointment we can discuss the shape and colour of your brows and make any changes that you feel necessary.
The 2 appointments are all under a single price of £350 a deposit of £100 is payable at the time of making your first appointment. The remaining £250 will be paid before or at the time of your first appointment via paypal.

The pigments used are all plant based.
The preparation for a Microblading procedure involves:
– Avoiding caffeine beverages on the day of treatment.
– No waxing or plucking eyebrows for 1 week before.
– No chemical peels and other intense facial treatments for at least 2 to 3 weeks before the procedure.
-No tanning or sunbathing for one week before the appointment.
– It is advised to wash and style your hair before the procedure, as the brows must not come into contact with water for at least 7 days.
– Discontinuing vitamin A (Retinol) and Botox treatments for at least 1 month beforehand.
– Stopping taking fish oil or any other natural blood thinners, such as vitamin E, at least 1 week before the procedure.
– Avoiding aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (as these types of medications are blood thinners).
– NO working out / heavy exercise on the day of the appointment (before or after)
– NO alcohol the day before and the same day of the appointment
After the Microblading procedure, and for at least 1 week afterward, a person’s eyebrows might appear darker.
They may also feel sharper due to scabbing and healing (DO NOT scratch or peel off the scabs) It is also normal to experience some redness and mild swelling. Once the skin has healed, the person can protect their eyebrows and help prevent the colour from fading by applying sunscreen on the Microbladed area.
