Microneedling  is ideal for reducing fine lines and scarring, helping to improve skin conditions, tone and signs of aging. Improvements can be seen instantly, plus they also develop over time due to the boosting of collagen renewal, which continues even weeks after treatment. Microneedling is an effective treatment for balancing uneven skin texture, large pores,  and pigmentation such sun damaged skin. After care directions, SPF and Dermalogica Pro Restore products provided post treatment minimise downtime and ensure beautiful results. A consultation form with full details of contraindications will be sent to you before treatment.

Before you have this treatment, make sure you are timing it right.

Please do not have any of the following treatments before your facial within the time periods mentioned below:

  • Retinol use within 24 hours.
  • Facial Waxing within 72 hours
  • Botox within 14 days
  • Dermal filler within 14 days
  • Chemical peel, Professional resurfacing or dermaplaning within the last 14-28 days

In preparation for Microneedling

To begin we use Dermalogica's professional-grade Exfoliant Accelerator 35, with a low-pH concentrate designed to stimulate cell turnover. Formulated with Lactic Acid, peptides, papaya enzymes and chamomile extract, this is an activating product with a calming base. 
 
After the Microneedling process

Your Beautician will use a soothing oatmeal mask to cool the face and ease the stinging sensation that can occur. The mask contains aloe vera which helps to soothe sensitive skin and minimise irritation and discomfort.

Dermalogica's Pro Restore product will be applied immediately prior, during and after your treatment. It will also be a part of your after care to take home, in which we include some SPF. 

 

After Care 

Immediately after treatment, it is normal for you skin to appear:

  • Red (like a mild sunburn)
  • Slighly swollen
  • Warm or tight

These expected outcomes will naturally ease off within 24 - 72hours depending upon the intensity of the treatment, as there are levels of depth that can be taken in this treatment. All of which will be discussed and guided by your Beautician during consultation.

Contraindications 

We will send you a consultation form with the below, but for your information if you have any of the below conditions, this will not be a suitable treatment for you:

Active Acne (grades 3 – 4)
Active skin infection (fungal, bacterial or viral.)
Active herpes simplex in treatment area
Open wounds, cuts or abrasions
Keloid scarring tendency
Isotretinoin use (within 6 – 12 months)
Blood clotting disorders
Immunosuppression
Uncontrolled Diabetes
Pregnancy or Breastfeeding
Active cancer / oncology care
Recent radiation therapy (within 12 months)
Severe Psoriasis
